Successful match

If the au pair and the family are a great match, au pair experience can be a lot of fun. People can be hesitant at first, but usually relax as they get to know each other. Families are leaving their children with practically a stranger, au pair is moving to another country for this family she hardly knows... I understand both parties and everyone should try to make it work for a successful year. To my experience, people give up too quickly. They don't realize this is not very easy and little sacrifice can bring great results. Keep in mind that cultural differences, language, home sickness are normal parts of the au pair experience. Most successful au pair and family teams overcome these obstacles by open communication and patience.
